Zack Hummel

Zack HummelAs the Public Relations and Advertising Specialist here at Growers Supply, I manage all of our advertising plans, as well as send out all company news and product releases to media outlets. Through staying abreast to industry trends, as it pertains to advertising, I’ve learned a great deal about the agricultural industry during my time here. I’ve lived the past 13 years of my life in the Connecticut River Valley, and I enjoy boating on the river in the summer.

After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2014, I held a few other roles in Public Relations before finally joining Growers Supply in April of 2015. In my free time I like to play basketball and soccer, hangout with friends and spend time at the beach in the summer.

Jim Kenney

As Growers Supply’s Product Marketing Manager, I am continually analyzing product sales, industry trends and new greenhouse, hydroponic, and aquaponic products. Having spent the majority of my career in marketing, I continually find myself drawing upon a wide range of real world experience and educational background. I earned an MBA in Marketing from Western New England University and a BS degree in Ag & Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to joining the team at Growers Supply in 2015, I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked 11 years within the green industry as a marketing strategist for a leading soilless media company. I am now very happy to be back in the green industry and look forward to sharing my insights and findings here on our company blog.

Jim KenneyWhen I am not working or drinking copious amounts of coffee, I can be found spending time with my amazing family. I especially enjoy watching and routing for my daughters who swim competitively. Aside from family time, I have so many hobbies and so little time – but I love getting outdoors as much as possible and enjoy: golfing, fishing, running, gardening, woodworking, watching New England sports teams and playing acoustic guitar and banjo to name a few!

Kelley Roche

Along with organizing our CEA Hands-On Workshops that are held at our CEA Learning Center East and planning the various trade shows we attend, my role as Events & Communication Specialist also includes writing content for our blog. I was born and raised in Holden, Massachusetts, a small town just north of Worcester. I graduated college in the spring of 2015 as a Communications major from Westfield State University, and I started working at Growers Supply shortly after in late summer of 2015.

Kelley RochePrior to Growers Supply, I held several positions within the farming and greenhouse industries, including stable hand and garden sales associate. Through previous employment, I gained valuable experience with general farming, haying and livestock management, including caring for goats, chickens, horses and the occasional stray dog. I also learned a lot about various flower breeds and how to properly care for them. Growing up I lived a mere three miles from a riding academy and began taking lessons there at the age of five. By the age of fifteen I was able to get my first horse. Sienna is an insane thoroughbred mare that has turned out to be the best riding instructor I’ve ever had.

I look forward to sharing some of my experiences with all of you through our blog and hope it helps in your own fields and hobbies!
